Odisha Electricity Bill Rebate 2024: – Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC) has granted special discount to Low Transmission (LT) single-phase consumers who pay their electricity bills on time for all months of the financial year.
Special discount amount is equivalent to March. OERC officials said all consumers will receive discounts from power distribution companies if they pay their monthly electricity bills on time. If a consumer has paid on time for all 12 months of a financial year, he or she is entitled to a refund equal to the refund for the last month (March) before the new rate year begins in April of each financial year.
Special discounts are above and beyond any other discounts granted by the Panel to consumers. Consumers with prepaid meters are entitled to a 4 per cent discount on the prepaid amount, while LT domestic and single-phase general consumers are entitled to a 4 per cent discount on digital payments. In addition, a consumer who chooses to use electronic billing will receive a discount of 10% on each bill.
However, any category of consumer will be able to obtain Green Consumer Certification from her Discoms if his electricity demand is met with 100% renewable resources. These consumers have to pay a premium of 20 paise per unit in addition to the regular energy tariff. This rule applies for one year from the date of entry into force of this rule. For this purpose, consumers will have to submit an application to each discom in advance.
